Character's Name: Amycus Carrow

Character's Gender: Male

Character's Appearance: Amycus is 5 ft 8 tall and very thin, yet without being considered too small in size. He has blond hair that is perpetually messy and ruffled and clear green eyes. He weighs perhaps too little for someone his age and posseses an air about him that just makes you want to look at him. Although slighter in size, he makes up for it with stunning reflexes, boyish good looks and impeccable dress sense.

Character's History: The Carrows are not amongst the oldest wizarding families around, but their blood is very much 'pure', that and the fact that the Carrows tend to produce intelligent offspring puts their family name in good light with high society. Their family isn't particularly rich, but they are probably more well off than most. The advantage of being a Carrow is that most of the family members are naturally smart, the down side is in how they use their gift. Since the rise of the Dark Lord, the Carrows have seen how much power he is gathering and have been quick to follow closely behind. If they are convinced that the Dark side is the winning side of the war, there is no doubt as to which side they will pledge allegiance to.

Amycus and Alecto were born in Britain, but their family came from Germany, so he can speak a little German when he wishes to.

In school, Amycus frustrated teachers. He never paid attention, but he was always able to answer the questions they threw at him in an attempt to punish him for inattentiveness. At home, his parents never had to worry about his well-being. Amycus was the sort of boy who could take care of himself, even though he had the tendency to get into trouble, he always wormed himself out of it with his brains.

When Amycus began to show signs of magic around five, it was a disastrous affair for the family. He quickly began to set parts of the house on fire and ruined his father's antique collection. Although hyperactive, Amycus has never been too fond of Quidditch. He won't tell anyone, but he's not too thrilled about being so high up in the air. It's something sensitive and perhaps only family members have an inkling about it.

It came as no surprise when Amycus was accepted into Hogwarts, what was surprising was that he was placed in Slytherin instead of Ravenclaw like most of the other Carrows.

Amycus has an amiable relationship with his family, even though he has had several heated arguments with his parents as every teenager does. He is relatively close with Alecto, although the two tend to play pranks on each other when they have nothing else better to do.

Character's Personality: Amycus is a straightforward character. You either love him or hate him, with a passion. He is brilliant in all senses of the word, good at sports, good at magic and perhaps a bit too clever for his own good. His intelligence makes him annoyingly proud and unbashful, always insisting that others love him, hence he is often unsensitive to people around him. However, he is not unobservant. Instead, if you have a secret you wish to keep, best not slip up around Amycus, for he will surely notice something. The boy is usually flippant and uncaring about his studies because he knows he can catch up when he feels like it. The largest reason why Amycus was put into Slytherin is because he is very ambitious. He recognises power, craves it even and this would lead to his falling to the Dark side of the war since he feels that it is more advantageous for him. He doesn't really mind blood purity that much, but he dislikes muggles and feels that they are beneathe him.

Amycus likes music and is particularly gifted at it. He tends to hum nondescript tunes when he's not thinking. He reads widely, but doesn't like to be forced to do it, hence the reason why he never reads ahead of classes or does his homework promptly. Basically, he dislikes anything that requires too much effort, unless of course, he's out for revenge, and then he really puts his heart and soul into it. Otherwise, Amycus isn't usually a serious person. He likes to joke around, play pranks and is always up to mischief. Sometimes though, his tricks can get a bit out of hand and he can be cruel in his comments and wisecracks. Sarcasm is never too scarce with this guy either. He is not like most other Slytherins in that he is usually frank and open with others, however the boy is not without discretion and can keep secrets well. Amycus is the sort of friend, if you would have him, that you would just shake your head and pull your hair in exasperation but at the same time secretly laugh at his antics.
